Cyberpunked is an upcoming online collaborative journal of philosophy exploring the near future of science, technology, and society.
The purpose of the journal is to build an engine of advocacy and awareness for issues with which most are unfamiliar. This will manifest in articles following the emergence and convergence of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, and cognitive sciences as well as the ethical implications of the uncanny technologies of the near future such as artificial intelligence, transhumanism, and the technological singularity. We are trying to bring underground concerns, some of which are the most important of our time, to an open and accessible publication.
Considering the nature of our journal, we feel we are especially suitable for the publication of works by forward-thinking students and faculty of philosophy, science, and engineering departments. However, we invite everyone who is concerned about these issues to consider us as a means to share their ideas. Familiarity with cyberpunk literature is certainly helpful.
